In addition to meeting admission requirements to the college and general college credit programs, individuals who wish to enroll in the Cosmetology Instructor program must meet admission requirements, as stated on the Cosmetology website. Or contact the program director for more information.

If transferring from another school of cosmetology, students must meet all of the above requirements and, in addition, must furnish the department with theory grades and verification of practical application completion. An official transcript from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations must be on file before acceptance into the program can be finalized. Students transferring 500 or more clock hours or 14 or more credit hours must arrange a skills assessment evaluation with the program director.

This program is for students who want to become an instructor in an educational cosmetology program. Students are eligible to take the TDLR Licensure examination upon completion of all course work and 800 hours. This examination serves as the Cosmetology capstone experience. Those students who complete the program and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and completion of 768 hours will be eligible to receive a certificate of completion.
