A field of study curriculum is a group of courses approved by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board that can be taken at the community college level and transferred as a block into a specialized bachelor's degree program at a state university.

The Associate of Arts (AA) with Field of Study in Nursing is designed for students who are interested in transferring into a Bachelor's degree program in Nursing or other related fields.

Marketable skills include:

1. Graduates will have a strong foundation in human science that will prepare them for nursing or other allied health education program.

2. Graduates will communicate effectively in a professional or social setting, actively listen, and ask appropriate questions.

3. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to critically think by identifying and solving problems that relate to scientific or social issues.

4. Graduates will demonstrate the ability to listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken language as well as reading comprehension.

5. Graduates will have a foundation in medical terminology.
