The Health Information Management accreditor of McLennan Community College is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College's accreditation for associate degree in Health Information Technology has been reaffirmed through 2029. The Health Information Technology program is designed to prepare graduates to perform the technical duties vital to managing health information. The health information technician is responsible for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the health record. Duties include record analysis, data analysis and reporting, coding, billing, and other health information related duties. With a degree in health information technology, you will be able to work in a variety of health care settings, including hospitals, physician clinics, mental health centers, long-term care facilities, insurance companies, government agencies, home care providers, and other health-related agencies.

Students enrolled in HITT 2249 will sit for the RHIT exam in the same semester.
