Introduces a systems approach to managing activities associated with traffic, transportation, inventory management and control as well as warehousing, packaging, order processing, and materials handling.

Summarize the history and philosophy of management systems; identify the tools of total quality management; explain customer and supplier relationships; demonstrate team building skills; and identify processes involved with continuous improvement.

Develop and implement safety program; describe cost benefit analysis; summarize the basic components of human behavior modification; apply the components of the safety audit process including record keeping requirements.

Explain the terms and how they relate to the overall concept of logistics; explain the legal aspects and regulatory agencies as they relate to logistics management; and demonstrate ability to apply decision making techniques based on time, materials, and space. Explain various theories, processes, and functions of management; apply theories to a business environment; identify leadership roles in organizations; and describe elements of the communication process.
