MUSI 1311 002 - Elementary Harmony I

The study of analysis and writing of tonal melody and diatonic harmony, including fundamental music concepts, scales, intervals, chords, 7th chords, and early four-part writing.
Analysis of small compositional forms.
Optional correlated study at the keyboard.
CoCorequisite: MUSI 1116 and 1181 or division chair approval is required.
Prerequisite: Acceptable grade on Theory Placement Exam or MUSI 1303 Fundamentals of Music with C or better, or approval of division chair.
Semester Hours 3 (3 lec).
