MUSI 1312 0001 - Music Theory II

The study of analysis and writing of tonal melody and diatonic harmony, including all diatonic chords and seventh chords in root position and inversions, non-chord tones, and functional harmony.
Introduction to more complex topics, such as modulation, may occur.
Optional correlated study at the keyboard.
Must have taken MUSI 1311, MUSI 1116, MUSI 1181 or MUAP 1169 with a division chair approval.
Concurrent enrollment in MUSI 1182 and 1117, or and prerequisite: MUSI 1311 or acceptable grade on Theory Placement Exam, or division chair approval.
Semester Hours 3 (3 lec).
